Field editor

Put fields on any PDF, even one with no form in it. Draw a box where each value goes, try it with test data, then download the filled copy or save it to your account as a template for the API. Nothing is uploaded until you save it.

Your signature

A picture of your signature. It is not a certificate-based digital signature.

From a flat form to an API call

  1. Open the PDF. Its own form fields, if it has any, are found and listed.
  2. Draw a box over each blank. It takes its name from the label beside it, so a box next to "Full name" is full_name.
  3. Type test values, or draw a signature. The pages redraw with the API's own fill, so text that shrinks to fit here shrinks the same way there.
  4. Download the filled copy, or save it to your account (Template & API tab) and fill it by id from your code, one document per fill.

The editor keeps the PDFs you open here, with their boxes, in this browser, so it reopens them where you left off. Saving to your account is the one thing that sends one anywhere.

Why boxes

Most forms people send are flat: the blanks are lines on the page, not fields a viewer can fill. Boxes put a value anywhere on any page, in any script, at the size that fits.

Positions are in points from the top-left of the page as you see it, on rotated pages too: the same numbers POST /v1/fill takes as fields.
